Street Style Saturday: Deconstructed Chic

Hello My Little Cupcakes,

The deconstructed chic look took over last season and is still trending this season. Work the deconstructed chic look with the button-down shirt-skirt. The button-down shirt is a classic staple, now this staple is available as a skirt! Genius, right? The shirt-skirt is girly enough to remain chic but boyish enough to remain simple. This look is perfect for the laid-back girl who wants to look stylish, but not like she spent anytime thinking about her outfit. The deconstructed chic look is ultimately the epitome of New York street-style. New York street style is effortless and this skirt is no exception. You can further work the deconstructed chic look by pairing this skirt with a leather biker jacket. For some added style, I wore my leather biker jacket off my shoulders with a cropped top underneath it.

What I love about this look is that you can create this look right at home! There are many DIY tutorials showing you how to turn your favorite button-down shirt into an edgy and stylish skirt. You can use any of your shirts, whether denim, plaid or floral, and wear it as a unique skirt.
